The properties, located across various parts of the country, are being assessed by the Chief Government Valuer to determine reserve prices ahead of their disposal.

“We will continue tracing more properties to recover stolen public funds,” Lady Justice Naluzze said during a site visit to one of the properties in Kitende, Wakiso District.

The visited property, previously owned by a former Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) staff member, was surrendered after investigations revealed he had underdeclared assets worth Shs1.6 billion.

The estate comprises ten apartments, currently generating Shs7 million in monthly rent, which is deposited directly into the IG Asset Recovery Account at the Bank of Uganda.

Of the 17 properties, five are developed and generating rental income, while the remaining 12 are undeveloped. Management of these assets is handled by Knight Frank on behalf of the IGG.

“This move upholds our strong commitment to eliminating corruption through asset tracing and financial profiling,” Lady Justice Naluzze added.
